After deploying vision-guided control across over 100 factories and 40 million-plus robot cycles, Inbolt CEO Rudy Cohen says the real bottleneck is the loop between perception and motion, and the integration tax surrounding it. Iván Hernández Dalas: Agility Robotics reports $1.8M revenue ahead of humanoid SPAC

Agility Robotics said it has deployed its Digit humanoid at 9 customer sites as it gears up to go public via a proposed SPAC merger with Churchill Capital Corp. XI. Now we’re getting a first look at Agility’s financials thanks to a new S-4 filing with the SEC. According to the S-4 , Agility generated $1.8 million in net sales in 2025, against a $140 million operating loss. The company spent $111 million on operations, up from $71 million in 2024. Agility burned about $100 million in cash in 2025. The SPAC deal values Agility at $2.5 billion and is expected to generate more than $620 million in gross proceeds. That includes about $420 million from Churchill’s trust and $200 million from a PIPE led by Foxconn. Compared with 2025 revenue of $1.8 million, Agility’s valuation equals roughly 1,400 times annual revenue. Source: MassRobotics In July 2026, the Federal Communications Commission, or FCC, said it has determined that foreign-made “advanced robotic devices,” including certain mobile robots and humanoids, could create supply chain vulnerabilities and pose cybersecurity risks. It banned new models of such devices, with exceptions for federal purchases and companies that obtain waivers through the U.S. Department of War or DoW. The rule covers ground-based, connected robots that weigh more than 4.4 lb. (1.9 kg), have environmental sensors such as lidar or cameras, include connectivity of at least 200 kbps, and rely on navigation and perception software. The FCC has also said that 65% of the total cost of a robot’s components must be domestic-made to qualify as U.S.-produced. It plans to increase that threshold to 75% in 2029. The series centres on Sue, a recent widow played by Sue Johnston, her hapless son Michael and Linda, an assistive care robot played by Diane Morgan. Linda is designed to provide daily support and companionship, with predictably comic results. As researchers in social care , ageing and human-centred robotics , we obviously watched Ann Droid with a keen eye. Beneath the jokes are questions that researchers are already tackling. Could robots help address loneliness among older people? Can a machine provide companionship without replacing human connection?
