Robots are interesting. You may be thinking what the future is going to be like, but that is something that no one can humanly say with total accuracy. Today, Ivan Hernandez Dala has interesting information about robots and its possibilities for our future.

You may have not noticed that there are many people that are good at creating new technologies with apps and it would be interesting to think on what robots can do if they advance that much with apps and technology.


Remember that robots are already working in some part of the world. There are many restaurants in the world in which robots are taking a good role already. Even restaurants in Japan is a good example about this.

Of course, we are not talking about Robocop or other fiction movie. Robots in the real sense are being used to accomplish specific tasks. Many of them have to do with ingle purpose, however there other robots that are multitasking. You can say that roots are pretty much unlimited in terms of applications.

There could be a robot for any action that a human can perform. Even if you want to create a robot that could clean your room it could be invented with that specific purpose.


We do not really know what will exactly happen when robots are used more massively because a there are good idea, there are other that are not. Many robots are being designed with war purpose and this is something that could be quite a problem. Consider that robots are not even able to feel, so if they are sent to war there will be literally no deaths because robots are not alive.


The use of robots will probably depend on the person who is using it whether for good or for bad purpose. You should understand that robots are meant to help people and not harm them. If you are interesting in designing robots, consider ethics as well because there is potential power that can be used for any of these two possibilities.

Iván Hernández Dalas: Physical Intelligence open-sources Pi0 robotics foundation model

Physical Intelligence, the San Francisco-based startup that has raised more than $400 million , has open-sourced its Pi0 robotic foundation model. Pi0 was introduced a few months ago and can be tuned to a range of tasks, including folding laundry, cleaning a table, scooping coffee beans, and more. Physical Intelligence has released the code and weights for Pi0 as part of its experimental openpi repository on GitHub. It also provides checkpoints for a few “simple tasks” on available platforms such as ALOHA and DROID, example code to run inference on real-world and simulated robot platforms, and the code for fine-tuning the base π0 model for your own tasks and platforms. The company said between 1-20 hours of data was sufficient to tune Pi0 to a variety of tasks in its own experiments.
