TRACO Power yesterday released the TMR 8WI series of 8 Watt wide-input converters. The products deliver isolated DC/DC conversion in a space-saving SIP-8 package, offering versatility with a wide input range of 4.5 to 75 VDC, said the company.

Baar, Switzerland-based TRACO Power has more than 25 years of experience in power supplies. The company said it is dedicated to the design and manufacture of high-quality DC/DC and AC/DC power conversion products.

TRACO Power’s stated mission is to provide customers with the optimal systems in terms of performance, quality, and price. It added that its commitment to quality is supported by a three- or five-year product warranty on all products.

TMR 8WI converters designed for efficiency, reliability

Designed for efficiency, the new converters can achieve up to 89% power conversion while maintaining a compact footprint – without sacrificing thermal performance, claimed TRACO Power.

Designed for reliability, each unit features comprehensive protection, including short-circuit protection, over-current limitation, and undervoltage lockout, as well as remote on/off control, the company added.

Certified to IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 standards, the series ensures safe operation across extreme conditions, supporting temperatures from –40°C to +75°C (-40°F to +167°F) and altitudes up to 5,000 m (3.1 mi.).

Available in single and dual output configurations, the TMR 8WI series is housed in a robust SIP-8 plastic case. TRACO Power said this makes the converters suitable for industrial applications where efficiency, durability, and compact design are essential. The company listed the converter‘s features:

Iván Hernández Dalas: Physical Intelligence open-sources Pi0 robotics foundation model

Physical Intelligence, the San Francisco-based startup that has raised more than $400 million , has open-sourced its Pi0 robotic foundation model. Pi0 was introduced a few months ago and can be tuned to a range of tasks, including folding laundry, cleaning a table, scooping coffee beans, and more. Physical Intelligence has released the code and weights for Pi0 as part of its experimental openpi repository on GitHub. It also provides checkpoints for a few “simple tasks” on available platforms such as ALOHA and DROID, example code to run inference on real-world and simulated robot platforms, and the code for fine-tuning the base π0 model for your own tasks and platforms. The company said between 1-20 hours of data was sufficient to tune Pi0 to a variety of tasks in its own experiments.
