Most conversations about warehouse automation focus on the technology, but not enough attention is paid to what it takes to make automation actually work in real-world environments. That means dealing with unpredictable environments, legacy systems, and shifting human workflows.

At the Robotics Summit & Expo, Anthony Jules, the co-founder and CEO of Robust.AI, will lead the talk “Building Warehouse Robots People Actually Want to Work With.” In this session, Jules will draw on decades of experience in robotics to explore what it really takes to bring automation into complex warehouse environments. The session is 11:30 AM on Thursday, May 28.

Jules will share practical insights from the field on what makes or breaks successful implementations, ranging from design decisions that support collaborative robots to the organizational changes required for adoption. Additionally, he will discuss the real barriers to automation, the importance of making systems intuitive, and how to think about automation not as a replacement, but as a partner for human workers.

More about Anthony Jules and Robust AI

Anthony Jules. Jules has a career spanning over 30 years at the intersection of robotics, AI, and business. An MIT-trained roboticist, he was part of the founding team at Sapient (later acquired by Publicis for $3.7B), held leadership roles at Activision, and has built multiple startups, bringing a unique blend of technical depth and operational scale to human-centered automation.

Founded in 2018, Robust.AI aims to bring AI, robotics, and human-centered design together to make robots broadly useful, effortless to adopt, and delightful to use.

The company offers Carter, a mobile robot built for seamless collaboration with people across picking, putaway, and value-added service. Easy to deploy, Carter integrates with existing systems and requires no major infrastructure changes. Real-world adaptability enables our solution to improve throughput, reduce strain on workers, and help retail, e-commerce, and 3PL operations scale smarter and faster.

About the Robotics Summit

Registration is now open for the Robotics Summit & Expo, the world’s leading technical event for commercial robotics developers. The event is produced by The Robot Report and WTWH Media.

The show will have more than 50 sessions in tracks on artificial intelligence, design and development, enabling technologies, healthcare, and logistics. The Engineering Theater on the show floor will also feature presentations by industry experts.

More than 70 speakers are confirmed from companies such as AWSBrain CorpFictivHarmonic DrivemaxonPickNik RoboticsRealSense, the Robotics and AI InstituteRobust AITeslaToyota Research Institute, and more.

The Robotics Summit will also feature a number of networking opportunities. They include a Mix & Mingle Networking Reception after the first day of the show and the ticketed RBR50 Awards Dinner.

The Robotics Summit & Expo is co-located with DeviceTalks Boston, which focuses on medical devices.
